Each lead crystal top weighs nearly 40 pounds, so Scott needed to devise a rigid attachment to make the legs strong enough to withstand the weight of the tabletop.

Artist: Brice Brown
Glass production: Scott Schroeder

Making cast glass, 19th Century side tables for artist Brice Brown was complex. Scott had to overcome several challenges when fabricating these tables. One of the difficulties of the glass casting process was keeping all of the fine detailed surface design work intact. By casting all the parts separately and then devising a rigid bonding process for attaching the legs and top, Scott was able to produce the finished tables with a seamless uniform look the artist wanted.
